Marine Corps Marathon Packet Pickup & Expo

Visit the MCM expo and check out the latest in running apparel, food, and literature.  Unlike previous years where the expo was held at the Stadium Armoury, this year's expo is at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, DC 20001.

The Expo hours are:

    * Friday, October 24 - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    * Saturday, October 25 - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Expo details can be found here.

*** NOTE:  ALL MCP RUNNERS WHO REGISTERED FOR THE MCM THROUGH THEIR CHARITY COORDINATOR CANNOT PICK UP THEIR RACE PACKET AT THE EXPO. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY RUNNERS FROM CHARITIES THAT ARE NOT IN THE MCP PARTNERSHIP.  IF YOU ARE UNSURE, PLEASE CONTACT ONE OF THE PACKET PICK-UP COORDINATORS BELOW TO CONFIRM. ***

          Why can’t I pick up my packet at the Expo?  MCP is retrieving all the race packets as a courtesy to our runners.  This service alleviates the need for you to stand in long lines at the expo and maneuver through the DC convention center yourself.  In addition, MCP is offering you the courtesy of picking up your packet on race morning.  This provides you the option of making just one trip to the marathon avoiding the crowds and hassle.

Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th
*** MCP Race Packet Pick-up ***

          Saturday from 9AM to 5PM

          Sunday from 6AM to 7:30AM

All MCP runners MUST pick up their packet at Camp Rosslyn.  This packet will include: your race bib, your race timing tag (D-Tag), your commemorative MCM shirt, and other goodies and paraphernalia from the MCM sponsors.  MCP coaches will also be available for any last minute questions or concerns that you may have.

NOTE:  If you drive to Camp Rosslyn on Saturday, you MUST print the special parking pass and show it to the parking lot attendant for entry and free parking.

Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 26th

Camp Rosslyn
The Marathon Charity Partners will establish a camp and command center in Rosslyn for the MCM weekend.

Here are the details:

What is it?  MCP will be parking a 30 foot RV, erecting a 20’ x 40’ tent, and renting several private porta-johns for use by MCP runners and their families only.  The camp will be located within 0.2 miles of the MCM finish line right within the heart of the Rosslyn post race festival.

Where is it?  If you type: “ 1631 North Lynn Street 22209” at http://www.maps.google.com, and zoom in, you will see the precise location of the parking lot where the camp will be located.  You can also go to the following map that is zoomed into the exact location. We recommend that you take Metro.   Camp Rosslyn is short walk from the Rosslyn Metro.  PLEASE NOTE:  Take the North Moore Street exit from the Rosslyn Metro station. As you approach Camp Rosslyn, the parking lot will have a sign for 1551 N. Lynn Street.  This is the actual street address opposed to the GPS/Google street address.  Look for the MCP Banner.

Why a separate camp?  MCP has made several special arrangements to create a quite, private, and comfortable place for our runners and their family and friends.  This is much less expensive than the MCM charity village which was very crowded, muddy, and noisy in the past.

When will it be in operation?  The RV will arrive and be set up Saturday morning at 9AM for the warm-up run (see below) and packet pickup (see above).  The tents and porta-johns will arrive on Saturday afternoon.  The camp will be maintained until 5PM on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday, October 24th @ 9:00 AM
MCP Warm-up Run & Breakfast
Come to Camp Rosslyn and join your MCP team mates and coaches for a short run and last minute marathon instructions.  This is a perfect opportunity to run your final warm up and pick up your race packet.  If you want to visit the MCM Expo, it is a short Metro ride across town. Afterwards, you can go home and relax in preparation for the big day.

NOTE:  If you drive to Camp Rosslyn on Saturday, you MUST print the special parking pass and show it to the parking lot attendant for entry and free parking.

If you plan to attend, please make a reservation.  The SPAM check is ACF (all caps).

Sunday, October 25th @ 6:30 AM
Arrive at Marathon Start/Finish
Come to Camp Rosslyn and relax before the race. Arrive early to beat the crowds and relax before the race.  We recommend that you take Metro.  Camp Rosslyn is short walk from the Rosslyn Metro.

MCP will also offer a “bag drop” at Camp Rosslyn starting at 6AM.  MCP volunteers will be at the camp all day staffing the activities and guarding the runner’s belongings.  This service allows you to have your items right up until you depart for the starting line and allows you to avoid the long lines to retrieve your belongings after you finish.
